The Company of the Year Competition is the flagship event of JA Europe. JA Company programs aims at promoting creativity, developing entrepreneurship skills and team spirit among high-school students by giving them the opportunity to launch and run a business for several months with the support of business volunteers, teachers and mentors.

This year, more than 200 students from 40 national teams across Europe took part to the final round of the competition. Following the company report review, panel interview, on stage presentation and exhibition stand interviews, the jury, chaired by Maxime Holder, President of PAUL International, awarded the first prize to Entella Company from Turkey. The company created Mareen, a cylindrical filter that aids in waste capture and removal in the ocean and other bodies of water.

The second prize was awarded to the company Brand from Estonia which developed men’s hair styling products made of natural components. Finally, third prize went to the Italian company Farm Animal Trade supporting individuals or farms to trade animals.

In addition to the main award, the young entrepreneurs also competed for several signature awards, supported by major sponsors AT&T, BNP Paribas, Citi Foundation, Delta, FedEx, ManpowerGroup and MetLife Foundation.

Tomorrow Foundation is a major sponsor of the JA Company program in Africa for Gabon, Ghana and Ivory Coast. The Foundation will remain a strong partner of JA in coming years and find innovative new ways to empower youth and promote education.
